Introduction

MPI-QMUL Information System Research Centre (ISRC) was approved by Macao SAR chief executive in 2004. The purpose of The Centre is, with adherence to the highest standards of research centre management, to develop a world-class research centre in Macao, with appropriate accompanying quality assurance procedures.

The Joint Research Centre in Information Systems is a co-ordinated offer from the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) and Queen Mary, University of London (QMUL).

The overall scope of the co-operation includes research and systems integration to the level of proof-of-concept demonstrators or operational prototypes in closely inter-related Information Systems technologies. A wide range of activities will be included, from system architecture design to application development.

In particular, the Joint Research Centre in Information Systems will focus on combining technologies in the areas of

1. Intelligent Radio Resource Management for Wireless Networks.
2. Security for large scale, corporative networks.
3. Intelligent gaming bot.
4. Multimedia and Imaging Systems
5. Internet Computing

The ISRC is actively involving several research projects about the topics introduced above. Recently the ISRC has won 1.3 Million Patacas fund from Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) of Macao,  the fund was for a project that will build a intelligent security system which can protect e-Government from fraud and cyber attack. Except for carrying out research work, we are also involved in educating science and technology for Macao people. We frequently organise public technique seminars, two seminars have been presented at MPI since 2006.
